KOCO Web Spots

This is all the rage these days. Kind of a neat effect - especially since it was done in house.

Ugh... the HP ripoffs... (newscorp did a couple of these too with shep smith)

I don't know what I dislike more. (albeit decent) stabs at the fantastic hp commercials... or the whole minority report thing-- talent pushing floating screens around with their hands... typing on floating keyboards...

doesn't work for me

Chris - I'm not a big fan either. They are interesting looking and fairly well done - I wonder why spots like these tend to get negative reactions from TV people.

I also wonder if viewers find it cool?

Sometimes commercials are so memorable that they should never be ripped off. I think it does a disservice to your brand. When I saw these spots, I immediately said HP, not (what station is this from again). Kudos to the designers and animators though.

Nice effects, but this has been done and overdone waaay too much already.

I do find it funny that TV people tend to dislike these so much.

Jason - you could be right, but I haven't seen an effective version of this from another station.

Scooterbucs - thanks, in general I suppose lol. We have different interpretations I guess. The point was obviously to capitalize on a successful marketing campaign. Since our viewers will see this more than once, the KOCO thing should stick eventually.

Is it creative? Not really. However, I chose to do these so I could get away from the way we conventionally show the website, which is just a big page and kinda boring. This felt like a good way to demonstrate qualities of the website in a more visual way.

Thanks guys. I totally welcome criticism and appreciate your feedback.
