WKYC: Welcome to Gold
Love the shooting style. Love the graphics. The message... hmmm... leaves me a little confused I guess. I "get" at the end that they've won Emmys -- but it still doesn't quite work for me. Maybe its just been a long week. I always like their work. Thoughts everyone?

WTHR Image Spot
Here is a spot from WTHR in Indianapolis. It reminds me alot of WBZ and WCCO(and even a campaign I've been doing here in Orlando)... yet its different enough to not be a blatant ripoff. Not sure I care for the music though.

WBZ Mornings
I'm a big fan of WBZ's promotional efforts... yet this new one leaves me a bit lukewarm.
Here is the spot:
Check out their web section as well:

I do think its an interesting idea to create pages for your key franchises. WBZ has also done this with declareyourcuriosity.com
Playing the promo, showing behind the scenes footage or pics and inviting viewers to interact with the brand is a great idea.
The WBZ Icon hunt seems a little odd to me - what does it have to do with mornings? Very cool interactive element, however.

Please Watch Something Else
A peculiar stunt took place during MTV's Video Music Awards.
During the show, VH1 aired a looping graphic that urged viewers to switch the channel and watch MTV instead. Sponsored by Taco Bell!
Now, I get that VH1 and MTV are owned by the same people - but why would VH1 just go "dark"?? And why would Taco Bell sponsor this?
And better yet - as MTV took commercials - VH1 took comemrcials of their own. Now, if you were an advertiser and your spot had been put into one of these breaks - wouldn't you feel cheated?
