New WBZ Campaign

Here are 3 new spots from our friends at WBZ... very interesting visual style as they continue their "Curious" campaign.

Damn, this is ridiculously cool. A local news station that's probably cranking out better spots than the ad agencies in town.

Agreed! Very interesting spots with a cool look. You know what I like about their stuff, it doesn't seem like they're trying too hard. It all seems so organic. And, I LOVE their female voiceover! Anyone know who that is?

Stunning! And I get the message. Love it.

wicked cool.
bravo, wendy and your gang.
amazing. :-)
btw. pretty sure the female VO is Keri Tombazian -she does our stuff at 'CCO as well, and is really great.

Surely the most original and unusual (that's a good thing!) news image spots I've seen. Everything about them screams--these aren't local TV news image spots!!! From the lady announcer, sultry, demure, dare I say sexy, to the animated graphic look--even the talent are cut-outs, and oh, so simple message--these spots appeal to me. Yes, like one poster said here, there's a laid back feel that isn't trying too hard.
If you've never seen a WBZ newscast and the only clue to what that experience would be like is seeing these promos, I wanna watch.

Seriously, where IS our money going? And where has all our cool local news promos gone... to WBZ! Who can I send my resume to there??
Well done.

Does anyone one know if the design/animation was done in house?

Wicked Cool!

It's the same technique they used at the end of the movie 'Enchanted'...good execution.

It was done in house using Adobe's After Effects.

Hey Promocat...I think that voice is SONNY WARNER. She does Detroit, KC, Tampa and Cleveland for Scripps. Dynamite voice.

Voice is Keri Tombazian. Google the name and you can hear her work.

classroom in a book? maybe they should have just cut out the images from paper...

and then used "stop motion"

oh wait, their probably not 6 years old....

and hacks

Bar far some of the best work out there. Great message but is it working?

Does anyone know the sucess of the "Curiosity" brand and how does WBZ rank in the market?

Of course there are tutorials on this stuff. They didn't invent the idea, rather they applied it and used it very effectively in a new way. Go check out videocopilot.net and see how many promos and network spots are ripped right off this site.

That's probably why they make tutorials, so people can learn new techniques.
