From time to time, I wonder what type of people come to this site. CSDs, producers, news people, hobos, drug addicts... who?
Do me the favor of commenting with a little something about yourself. You can still remain anonymous - but tell us what you do, where you are at and anything else we may want to know.
Let's get to know each other a little!

I used to be a CSD and loved it. The biz changed and now I run Well Dunne! Talent and rep the best voices available to the entertainment world, especially TV stations. Yeah, this is a bit of a shameless plug, but isn't that the basis of promotion anyway? Thanks Don!
Nightside writer/producer in sunny orlando.
You can make fun of the Hearst box I'm confined to here:

I am a senior at Marshall University who found this site about a year ago. As a freshman I was gung-ho about wanting to be a journalist for a living, but during my junior year I realized that what drew me into broadcasting was the packaging, branding and promotion of the editorial content. Thus, I'm trying to learn as much about the promo biz as possible.
Don, your entries and the user comments have provided me with massive amounts of insight, so I majorly thank you for taking the time to keep this thing running.
Senior Writer / Producer in Columbus. Always looking for inspiration...
Senior Producer, Marketing
WOIO/WUAB Cleveland 10 years experience
I've had the luxury of a nice schedule producing image and sweeps (sans topicals) for the last few years. With the recent economic changes I've been doing considerably more commercial production. It's got pros and cons, but definitely adds a new dimension to my day as well as gives my reel a bit more depth.
Working with AE's and clients on a daily basis sure gives you perspective. Imagine having 10 different News Directors to please in a given day. But...I have a job and I still do enjoy it.

I used to be a network news promo producer and now basically troll the site looking at good/bad work, saying "I wish I could have done that" or, more often, "I'm glad I had nothing to do with that."
Still work in TV, but no longer in promos. Sigh.
I love this site. Nice work, DonSr.

Don, thanks for asking.
Former Promo Producer in market 99 and now Commercial Producer in market 42. Looking for inspiration and what NOT to do.
I think I'd like to get back into promo writing. I miss the creative flexibility and the absence of clients mandating ridiculous ideas and conflicting branding.

Solo promo producer at my station in market 109. Two years' promotions writing experience, three years' promo editing experience, 8 years before that in graphics. Think it's time to move up in the world? :-)
Anyway, I check the blog out for inspiration, for a laugh, and sometimes, to remind myself that a little thought can go a long way.
