I'm sick of the diner spots! Tired of the promos where kids are getting ready for school! These spots are a breath of fresh air. They are clever, charming, and make you smile. This campaign will stand out in New York! And John Elliott shines as usual... his personality blows away the WBZ folks.
Putting talent on a white background is "a breath of fresh air"???? You need to broaden your horizons - it's been done in pretty much every major market.
o&o's borrow and share all the time... nothing new... it's all cbs! it looks like only 3 spots were lifted... 5 originals. i really like this campaign. white room's are nothing new but these spots are different and do stand out.
The BZ spots were nothing special, but these are awful. Awkward talent, unfocused direction... downright stupid graphic touches.
To "borrow" mediocre work instead of coming up with something appropriate to the talent and brand you're working with demonstrates a sad lack of creativity and laziness. They should be ashamed of themselves. But they're probably not.
The white room is a symbol of our lack of imagination as an industry. We need to come up with something new. The stakes are too high for this kind of laziness.
This is somewhat bland but well-executed and the graphics are superior. Much better than the morning show promos from their competition, except for ABC7.

More bland promos from America's blandest market. At least BZ's take on these had a tiny bit of personality. These just seem forced and contrived.

News, traffic, and weather. About time somebody put all three together in one show. Thanks CBS 2
Can't believe that they stole WBZ's script. And the WBZ guys are better actors. The WCBS people seem so uncomfortable.
i kind of like em
disagree. i think these spots are adorable and clever. WCBS graphics are better than BZ's too.

It's like blinding yourself with Pam, then melting your face off with a waffle iron.

ick ick ick! I agree with "forced and contrived"
Now that the cat is out of the bag, what do you think Mr. Smith?
Any inside info on promo sharing/lifting from the BZ?
Seriously, does this happen a lot? These use the exact same copy as those BZ spots. Is this some kind of corporate thing?
This was lifted from WBZ. Pure and simple. From what I hear.. WCBS never was given a heads-up or asked for permission.
Bad form.. especially inside the company.

I renew my pledge NEVER to do another spot with anchors in a white room. I admit, it's what I used to do when I can't think of anything clever.

It's like coffee... you don't need it...
huh.
Great I don't need to watch you, especially since you've compared your morning show to a tooth brush, toast and OJ.
ick.
