These promos are about the talent and not about the viewer. If that was the goal, then I guess well done. But in my opinion, the message of any promo should ALWAYS be about the viewer.
These are pretty good spots if they're introducing an anchor team to the market. But I beleive I saw something similar from one of the other Houston stations last year... Is this their new team?

Yes, I was totally distracted by his arms too.
Also, "at home on a bike and in the newsroom," totally odd comparison.
