Lost Promos

It's official. I have now seen it all. Shut down the internet...

Here is a tie-in to Lost that "promos" promos.

Check out the story from KAKE here. Apparently, the promo guy uploaded the promos to Myspace and a girl from Russia uploaded them to Youtube.

Yep. That's it. The whole "mystery"... oh... except the girl thought they meant CAKE instead of KAKE.

If I was a viewer, I'd feel cheated... and strangely, hungry for cake.

Someone needs a nap. Why have you been so negative lately?

I dig it.

Side note...What's the VO guy's name? I hear him all over.

John Young. Same guy my station uses... definitely an easy (and fun) guy to work with.

Let's face it, we all have had to make promos for stories that just don't make sense or really have no benefit to the viewer. But really, you run this story on your best night during sweeps. WOW! Not good.

One more thing, I had to look at the story and did anyone notice that they said it's gotten over 100's of thousands of hits and the view counter in the video showed 16,000 on one and nine hundred and something on another. HMMMMM…stretches the truth a little?

Well, they might be talking about the original videos. I remember seeing the raw footage of this a year or two ago (and also thought they were talking about 'cake', as there was nothing indicating it was for a TV station) and it was all over various geek websites that cover Lost. My best guest was that they shot it internally for a castmember's party. Or that it was shot for some sort of Japanese game show, maybe. NOW it makes so much more sense...

Bill Ratner won't do mp3 sessions. Only ISDN. How much does that suck?!

Concerning the hundreds-of-thousands of hits on the YouTube vid, there was a story in the local paper about how this all happened. Apparently the producer asked the Russian girl to take down the stolen vid and she agreed. That was the vid that had all the views.
