Acting! Thank You!
I borrowed that line from Jon Lovitz's Master Thespian character on SNL from years ago. Here are a couple of spots from KATU in Portland featuring some acting.
Do these types of spots work?

I actually think the over-the-top acting fits the subject matter in this particular case...especially if you're trying to capture the frustration and emotion people feel when they see these sorts of claims...so I didn't have a problem with that...I would have like to have seen a few specifics promoted, ie- which products are we going to test?' Maybe they did that in other spots. However, overall..I thought it was a good effort.
I avoid concepts using actors because a) I don't really have an anchor or reporter that can pull it off and b) we don't shoot well enough to match the million dollar spots next to us in the pod...But this works if it's a quick run to introduce the franchise. Talent did a good job with it, sold it well. I'd only be afraid that viewers would get sick of it quickly and change the channel by the third time they see it on the air.

The actor in this spot is not a reporter or anchor.
Better as a :20.
Seems like they go after these products because there's hardly any chance they'll buy ad time on the station.
Criticize a real advertiser and see how quickly the sales department shuts the franchise down.
