NBC Miami: We Believe

UPDATE: I've updated the link. The station confirmed this was for a sale piece - not on-air.

Not your typical spot... NBC Miami is playing off emotion and community.

Interesting.  What are your thoughts?

I LOVED it...until they went into their airchecks. Totally lost the emotion of the spot. The way the spot was at the beginning with the typography was great and built to a climax that didn't deliver.

To me, it felt like they just gave up once they got to their airchecks because they didn't know what to do with them. Or a news director wanted a whole bunch of sound bites...lol.

I agree about the first half: it was much more interesting. What was the music in that first half? Anyone? I need more cuts like that.

That's actually a VideoHelper track! I've been loving their last couple releases, especially the disc this track comes from:

"Floating Flights of Fantastic Fancy - background", track 74 off of Disc 41.

Very well executed! Is this a sales sizzle reel maybe?

Hey guys-- thanks for checking out this spot. This is actually not a promo, but a short "sizzle reel" we created for a station meeting. Just tried to take a less traditional approach with a little less sizzle and more thoughtfulness in how we define our brand in Miami. Tim-- we never give up :), just created a specific project for a specific task. By the way-- posting three new producer positions next week. If anyone is interested in taking their talents to south beach, shoot me an email! kara.mcneely@nbcuni.com

Really well done Kara. My only teeny tiny nit-picky comment... as a MIamian, I hate that you left out "Miami is... AMERICAN" (at the Haitian... Hispanic part). Inspiring work. Sara V., CSD in Philly

Hey Kara, sorry if I sounded a little harsh! Didn't mean it! As a sizzle reel...your approach worked great!

Thanks, Sara-- GREAT point!!

Not harsh at all, Tim-- Appreciate your insight!

Great spot... love the pacing and quiet moments.

One issue, though. "Similarities" is misspelled at the end.
