Team 6 Investigators

Reporter on the phone.  Check.

Reporter pointing at things.  Check.

Reporter crossing arms.  Check.

What... was the smoke machine broken that day?

Have we not moved past this yet?

When I watch this I laugh!... and then I cry because this is exactly what we're being pushed to do at my station. We try to do different, innovative, attention-getting spots that people aren't used to seeing, and we just pushed and shoved back to make stuff just like this. *sigh* stepping off soapbox now.

Lets take everything stale and outdated and put it in a promo. It once worded in 1982 so it should work now.

There was some smoking going on but the smoke machine was not one of them.

Good thing a news station is protecting the helpless viewers.

I have a feeling this spot made a News Director and GM very happy. That's why these kinds of spots keep getting made. I've lived it myself.

Do these "investigators" ever investigate outside the station? Seems like they're discovering and uncovering the nooks and crannies of the station and not the community they're proclaiming they protect.

What do you think about including the photographer as a talent on the team? At least that's somewhat different from the laundry list of cliches and promo speak piled together in this piece.

Too bad, cause looking at some of this station's previous work they seemed to be headed in an innovative direction, maybe being reactionary to a couple disappointing sweeps they decided its right back to predictable promos.

I agree with Mark. It sounds like a news department wrote this after a consultant came in. UGH!

There's not a single redeeming thing in this p.o.s.
