WDRB: See the Difference

WDRB recently produced a series of spots highlighting why they're better than the competition.

The first spot below is fairly odd -- they say they ditched "breaking news" because it was a gimmick and a marketing ploy. 

"We know you're smarter than that," the on-camera talent says.

They then proceed to show you a man dressed up in a fox costume labeled "Snow Fox", their weather mascot... you know... a gimmick.

Oh the irony.

OMG I can't get past the sliding people on screen. WTF is that!
Guess they need to keep trying to be a better TV station.

Saying you're ditching "breaking news" in itself is a marketing ploy. These are horrible.

It looks like the on-camera talent is the station's GM. Is anyone else at the station remotely important?

Bothered by the tag line about wanting to become a great television station. Implication is that you're not a great television station... what a weird thing to say in a promo.
