From Sacramento -- a highly creative spot that will be featured in the Oscars this weekend.
They are playing off "La La Land" with their spot "Blah Blah Land":
Kudos to Drew and his entire crew for pulling this off. NOT your typical morning news promo.

Sacramento is such an awesome promo market... One wonders why you would ever leave.
Ahem....
Haha... true.
This is really, really cringeworthy. Fake pans (yes, there are edits) and the anchors are probably pretty lucky they didn't get identified in the spot so they can face the public without too much shame.
I wonder where they'll get a minute seventeen avail... in the OSCARS?!? Sales team not selling spots?
where do you see a cut?
I dislike this greatly, but to each their own. Definitely unique.
No cuts. One take. But thanks for posting anonymously.
No cuts. This is the social version. Thanks for the anonymous comment.
The problem with spots like this is that they don't feel even remotely like the product. You actually feel like you're being sold BS instead of heightened reality.
It's attention-getting and different, but the key point of familiarity in it is only recognizable to a demographic that likely doesn't watch or even respect local news.
WELL spoken Dave!
Wow. Tough crowd.
You want to get attention? Mission accomplished
Energetic? check
Makes me like the talent? sure
Makes me curious about the morning show? Absolutely.
Incredible JIB shot too.
Drew, don't be so thin-skinned. So what if they post anon. Does that make their opinion invalid? We've all had to balance opinions on our creative.
The spot created conversation, that is a good thing, though I am not a fan. Not only is there no reason I should watch, I'm just not a fan of the "look at me" TV journalists have become.
BTW, I'm going to post anon :)
