Check out this spot for CBS News. Very cool use of stills and fonts.
My biggest beef with this spot is I don't recognize most of the people and the shots go by so quick - its difficult to really get a good look at them. Maybe this would work better for a news organization with more recognizable talent(NBC News could have done this spot with more success)

I don't know. I think people probably recognize Katie Couric and Bob Sheiffer, even though they didn't use the best shots of them.
I did think the spot was cool visually, but the heavy emphasis on graphics may have gotten in the way of the sell, which was...?
True evil monkey. All I remember was they won emmys from this spot. And the only person I recognized was Katie. If Bob was in there, I missed him.
But it looked cool :-)
I've always thought the use of words on the screen adds to the efftiveness of the spot. As a teacher, we were taught that kids only remember a third of what you tell them, but that jumps up to 80% if you show them simultaneously when you tell them. So I might have added a VO here. I think the spot reminds folks of the quality of the product CBS News is putting on the air.
