I liked it. It's fun, personably, and a little cheesy. I think it's a good promo that will grab new viewers; viewers who don't want to wake up to doom and gloom. They called the cook by his name! How more one-on-one can you get?
Cheesy acting. The setup is totally contrived and it makes me cringe. But viewers will probably notice(for the wrong reasons). If this station is the clear market leader, viewers will forgive the bad acting and keep watching. If it's not the clear leader, viewers will make fun of it and won't switch. Kind of a waste of time, don't you think?
Woah! The acting is WAY too over the top for my tastes. Granted, I'm not a morning person, but if I woke up and had to face these people... I'd want to slap them all upside the head!

maybe it's a New Yorker thing and looks out of place online.
Have you seen the "7 Minutes" promos? Just 7 minutes...
I am guessing they all ordered a big plate of cheese. WOW.

Awwwful! I can't believe this makes the cut in NYC. It's more over the top than an SNL sketch.
Sal, seriously, the cook's name is Sal?

I was gonna say the same thing about Sal... I guess there are no Bob's running diners in NY
I might work if they went all cheesey, instead of halfway.
it's a promo from 1998 sweet!
FINALLY!!!
I've been looking for a morning newscast that does news, weather and traffic!!
Why do they still call it "Channel 7" Eyewitness News? Shouldn't this #1 ABC O&O station call itself ABC7 Eyewitness News (like KABC)?
Somebody have an answer?
