New Know Campaign
Beautiful spots from WXMI in Grand Rapids, Michigan that at least acknowledged they took the idea from WCCO:
And another set of spots with some nice, clean visuals:

Love 'em. Anybody happen to know the VideoHelper track name on those ID's? I know I've heard it before and I've got a spot that track would fit perfectly at the moment if I can dig it up.
Unless I'm mistaken, what's missing in these and WCCO's is anything local. It's easy to get stock images but get a digital camera and demonstrate what you want to say with local sights.
What's more surprising is that this is a Fox station.
We've got a bunch of promos already airing that are all local... that focus on the "pure west michigan sights". All the timelapse shots, the West Michigan lake and lighthouse shots, and many shots in the cutdowns are local West Michigan shots.
I like them too, but the CCO and WBZ spots that these borrow from fit the brand of those stations across the board from the web to the newscast. This does not feel like a "Fox" brand to me.
These spots tell me more about the creative services department than the news department. Are you really answering these questions? They feel like spots for the discovery channel and I realize that they're going after a emotional connection and I bet the original creator read the book "LoveMarks", but do local viewers actually connect these spots to YOUR NEWS?

That being said, I still like it.
Really nice-looking and fresh. The questions are good and make me want to know more. Great use of stock music.
