The 33 News
This is a spot from the CW station in Dallas. Up against powerhouses like KTVT and WFAA... do you think this spot sets them apart?

Great message, but WAAAAY too much information at once.
These would be much more effective as :15s than as one :60. It's different enough that people will stop what they're doing to watch the full piece, but I think there's so much crammed into it that people won't really take anything from it.
After all that talking, typing & animating, I have no idea what to expect if I tuned into their news. I don't know what it will look like, who I'll see or any personal connection to the newscast. Am I going to have to read as much if I watch their news? Or do you actually have people and video?

The copy makes a great values statement for a younger audience newscast.
Problem with not showing your newscast is that the audience then builds the "perfect" newscast in their minds.
You're setting them up for a big letdown. Especially, fickle younger demos.
Somebody needs to learn the phrase "copy edit."
