Is that raid real? It is suspiciously good. The spot made me watch. We watched again and again, analyzing that scene to see if it was real or staged. The camera was in perfect position and the video looked too good to be true. What was it shot with?
Believe it or not...thats real news footage. Our news photog did an amazing job of capturing the moment. That's the photog that says "He's coming out the window!" News shoots on Panasonic P2, if forget which camera model, but it's the big expensive one. My department uses Panasonic HPX170.
I brought in the footage that was 720x1280 60p and converted it to 24p in FCP. It was hard fight with the news dept. to have no announcer!
Will - Yeah, our Promo Dept. shoots and edits everything in 24p. It helps to separate from that "news" look of 60i/p.
Plus when working with news video that's 60p and converting it to 24p, you have the choice of conforming to 24p which gives a really nice, smooth slomo, or just a straight convert will give you a cinematic 24p film look.
Thanks for the info Tim - Very nice job! What's the photographer's name? And please tell them GREAT JOB! I shot for ten years before switching to news. That's a great moment and awesome job to anticipate and follow the action!

Love that SWAT spot. Great stuff! Does converting it down to 24p add a film like look?
Thanks for sharing!

Looks awesome to me, especially the first one with the ABC action news! I work for an ABC station and if that were our slogan, I'd copy the style. :)
Love the first spot with the action news especially! I work for an ABC affiliate.
