WRAL Peacock Teasers

WRAL in Raleigh has a unique situation.  As a current CBS station, they're running the Super Bowl today.

Soon - they will switch affiliations and become an NBC station.

Here are some teaser spots they produced using a trained peacock(the only one in the country!):

These are fantastic. I want to know the whole story behind the production.

Not everyone will get it and it might be too insider, but it might be just 'out there' enough to pique some curiosity.

This is the type of spot that will win Promax awards. Hope you enter it.

Hey, I'm the On-air promo manager at WRAL.

We were lucky enough to find a peacock who was imprinted (trained) in our DMA. We found this peacock a week and a half before the Super Bowl.

Working with the aviculturists at the Sylvan Heights Bird Park, we were able to decipher what exactly was possible with the peacock.

Then we conceptualized ideas and spots, while the handlers trained the peacock for our ideas.

Came together quite nicely and beyond our expectations.

Here's a little write up on how the Peacock idea came to life, as well as links to the rest of the 17-spot multi-platform campaign.
