2008: What a Crappy Year(mostly)

Well, it has come to this. The last day of 2008. All I can say is -- good riddance.

This has been such a terrible year for television. I've had good friends lose their jobs due to layoffs. I've seen dozens of people shown the door. Luckily, a few were able to find new jobs -- but others still search daily and hope for a miracle.

My luck changed this year, for the good. I was very happy to get the Creative Services Director job at KTVX in Salt Lake City. A few weeks in and I really love it. The city is great and the people couldn't be nicer.

I was one of the lucky ones.

So for 2009, lets all hope for an unexpected uptick in the economy(2009 is projected to be worse that 08) - and lets hope all of the good people who were laid off find new work, new passions and a renewed spirit.

Remember, change is good. I wish you all the very best.

Thank you all for checking out the blog in 2008. I look forward to seeing you all in the new year.

Happy New Year to you Mr. Blogger.
I currently work and live in your old market (WPB) and my staff and I read your blog on a regular basis. Lots of great spots to watch and great ideas to...borrow.
Good luck in Salt Lake City. I'm sure you're missing the 78 degrees and sunny right about now.

Missing you in O-Town.

Wishing you success and happiness in the new year.

I'd write more, but I'm on frickin' vacation! ;)
