WBZ's sister station had a mascot of sorts a few years back named Blockhead. They used him to promote their syndicated programming.
Here are some spots that were just posted online that help introduce the character. You can search "Blockhead" on this site to find a few more spots from back then.

Half the battle with a CW, MY, THIS, Me TV, station is standing out and getting people to remember you actually exist.
These are very memorable in my opinion. The other spots (not featured in this post) do a great job of tying their unique mascot to their programming.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this "blockhead" rebranding just happened to coincide with Wendy McMahon's tenure as CSD at WBZ.
You are correct. This was done during Wendy's time at WBZ.
