The first spot is great, UNTIL you wrap it up with the same cliches used in every single promo spot with anchors sitting at the desk doing nothing important.
Why not use the dad and kid for the whole spot, with copy that pertains to both their interactions and what your station thinks is important.
You began with a nice spot that was ADVERTISING your station, and ended with a crappy PROMO.
