This felt very "inside baseball" minus the funny. They need to work on a payoff rather than just awkwardness.
Had the consultant suggestions been more "universal" (instead of cheesy), I think it could work. Granted, the majority of TV consultants seem like these guys, but still... the viewer doesn't know that.

The FedEx commercial above tapped into the "everyday" characters we run into in an office environment. I think that's what these spots lack.
On a more effective level, WCCO has a great spot where their talent talks about a consultant that I think really helps their image.
