24-Hour News Spot

Here's what they say about this spot:

December 8th we here at INC launch an all new 24 hour news network on digital 33-3. This launch promo is all about breaking through the clutter and trying to stand out.

While I applaud trying to break through the clutter -- this spot makes no sense to me. Its odd to be odd, in my humble opinion.

While nicely shot - it screams "What the hell?" -- which takes my focus off the point of the spot.

Thoughts?

Well they only come out of the clutter with the visuals, so if your viewer is gone for a quick trip to the can, they're just going to hear that same cliched vocal style.

The visual premise--turning on the lights to a usually dark room--is great. But to be more relevant to the audience, the dark place/clock setting should have been replaced with a newsroom setting. It still would have cut through the clutter and would have actually been relevant.

Randomness works only if it makes people curious. Sorry, but a clock in a dark, empty space does not an inquiring mind make.

I don't get it.

I agree. But you did post this promo so it must have got your attention a little.

I like it! the videography is exceptional and the sounds work well with it. Does it break through clutter? I think so. However the clock in a lone dark building, not sure that was the best location, I like the newsroom idea. All in all well done INC.

screams "old". you have a spot that attempts to be edgy and you throw in a grandfather clock?
