NBC San Francisco: We Investigate
Some beautifully shot spots out of the Bay Area... featuring my friend, investigator Stephen Stock!
I'm not sure how they found places where white was so predominant in the background - but it makes for a slick look.

This has a very professional, slick look, but it almost borders on parody. If you turn the sound down, it looks like a promo for a network cop drama - especially that cheesy group shot at the end. It's hard to take it seriously.
I'm going to have to say that it's a little too much for local news.
I disagree with Anonymous above. I don't find it cheesy at all. It shows reporters actually WORKING! I'd rather see that than a fake stand up with them stick at mic up their mouth.
I believe it gives them credibility, especially the high production value. I've seen a lot of "Investigative Reporter" promos with the reporter meeting his "source" in a dark alley and all the other cliches out there. This by far is the most relatable, realistic investigative promo out there. I say kudos to their CS team.
They have plenty of great promos of their actual work, too, if you check the producer's YouTube channel. If you see their stories, even if you've seen one, this kind of promo will get an occasional viewer back into a newscast. Their investigative work is incredible.
Yep, it's an investigative promo. Hard to argue about its merits when it's just one of many. I'd love to see what an investigative promo looks like, that doesn't scream investigative promo.
