Job Alert!

Is working at WRAL the next big step for you?

WRAL is now hiring a Promotion Writer/Producer!

You’re the right person if you write irresistible, cliché free copy, are a hands-on genius in an edit bay and can graphically kick your spots to the next level.  Making magic with the camera and knowing how to move people from TV to web to social to mobile and back to TV moves your resume to the top of the pile.  At WRAL, you’ll topically promote our top rated News on TV, web and social. You conceptualize and produce high impact special report promotion, proof of performance image, news specials, documentaries from our standalone doc unit, station events and other marketing as assigned.  You’ll also contribute to station community efforts.  We’ll support you with an outstanding team of designers.  We have all the best tools in house: seven HD Final Cut Pro edit suites, Adobe Creative Cloud, Canon 5D production gear, slider, dolly, and jib.  We work in one of the most beautiful television stations in America.

Meshing with our standout team is as important as your skills. We have extraordinary expectations of each other. We go for excellence in everything we do, but we also fail trying sometimes. We pick each other up, dust off and go at it again. We’re locally-owned by Capitol Broadcasting Company, a pioneering, stable, community advocate, do the right thing company that offers some of the best benefits in the business.

A minimum of three years’ experience in TV promotion, production and/or news; hands on writer, editor, and videographer.  Must be able to edit on non-linear system (preferably Final Cut Pro).  Experience with After Effects, Photoshop, or other graphic related program is preferred.  Exceptional initiative and personality to stay calm in the face of deadlines necessary as well as the ability to execute multiple projects at once.

Artist Needed in Sacramento (And you get to work with me!!)

Smart?  Talented?  A little “off-center”?  Read on!

1331Creative, the marketing team at KOVR/KMAX in Sacramento, CA is looking for a highly creative artist to join our award-winning group.

This CBS-owned duopoly is not your typical(boring) TV station.  Nope.  We have fun.  We take chances.  We even make a few misatkes.

We do it all in the spirit of creativity.  Our goal is to produce smart work, exceed client/viewer expectations and have a blast doing it.

This position will work on high-end projects with the station’s commercial production team as well as the promotion and art peeps.

We’re a little weird.  A lot geeky.  And we love to laugh… often.

Sounds like your kind of place?  Before you march into your boss’s office and quit… here’s what we need from you:

  • A killer reel! (you’d be surprised how many resumes we get without a reel… we need to see what you can do!)
  • Expert knowledge of After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Final Cut Pro and Star Wars
  • A passion for producing motion graphics that break through the clutter
  • You MUST be a team player who enjoys collaborating and brainstorming while discussing Sharknado
  • C4D & compositing experience bumps you to the top of the list
  • Ability to shoot video and still photography along with experience directing talent is a huge plus
  • Sharp attention to detail and accuracy;  ability to make tight deadlines
  • Agency or post house experience preferred

Head to CBSSacramento.com for more details.  It's a great place to work... in a great place to live.

**Note:  Star Wars knowledge can be substituted with SNL knowledge, if you want to really get in good with me.  :)
