Stand up to Cancer
Here's a nice, powerful spot featuring celebrities such as Tobey MaGuire, Christina Ricci, Susan Sarandon, Morgan Freeman, Mayor Bloomberg, Keanu Reeves, Lance Armstrong, Jodi Foster, John Williams and Sidney Poitier.

Nice simple spot, yet so powerful. I like the irony of John Williams sitting down, too.
To me, this spot is a testament to how music can make and elevate a spot, how just a few lines of copy using just the right voice can make 60 seconds feel powerful and take you to another place. This treatment is not terribly different that what we’ve been talking about in the past few days about the spots from WBNS and WHO, is it?
Ah, the joys of dating a music teacher! Here is what my lovely girlfriend has to say about the spot:
On the Stand Up To Cancer spot it is actually Itzhak Perlman (an world renowned Israeli violinist & conductor who is in a wheelchair because he was stricken with polio at age four) who is sitting down…not John Williams.
I wanted to be sure so I checked & he is standing with the “Student Orchestra” from Julliard.
Actually, I misspoke earlier today... although Itzhak Perlman uses a wheelchair at times, he's not confined to one & does walk with crutches. On an unrelated note, he is truly an incredible musician and individual who deserves to be recognized as himself. :)

I've seen this spot several times now... I still can't figure out if the Tobey McGuire shot is real or not.
Looks chroma wall'd to me... Or it may be all the lights spilling directly onto him.
