Scary Good!

Check out these 3 "mini-movies" from my coworker Paul. These horror-based spots were made to have some fun during October. They match the tone of the show... which is fun and irreverent.

No "news, weather & traffic" here... no "our doppler is bigger than your doppler" -- just some good, clean fun!

The receptionist in 2 of the spots is our actual station receptionist Eleanor! Wonderful woman and fantastic in the spots!

Great job Paul(and Eleanor!)

Nice spots. I like the new web page look too.

Was this a 'web only' campaign? The scariest part may be they actually get :60 promo avails to run them...I haven't seen those in years!

Another example of why you don't let your anchors try to act...or try to be funny. It doesn't translate well to TV. I'm sure everyone INSIDE the station thoughtit was cute, but were the viewers really entertained???

Thought these were fun! Tell your co-workers great job, Don...way to think outside the norm.

and...as a side note, would love for the ppl who leave negative comments to actually sign a name. Or, post a link to your spots. ;-)

After all, Don is nice enough to find everything for us on this site...it would be helpful to know who's commenting, so producers can have a conversation with constructive feedback/thoughts. I think there is a difference between giving a worthwhile critique, and being rude.

Can't we all just get along?

Wow, what a comment..bah humbug! Oops, that's for the holidays, sorry!
Hope 'Anonymous Scrooge' lightens up before payday!

Anyhoo, I think these are great! They were well thought out and produced well. I miss the old days...(80's), when I watched the creepy Happy Halloween station IDs back when I was a kid in Indianapolis. A simple carved pumpkin with a candle lit inside. The creepy voice reminding me that Halloween was on the way. (Watched Scary Terry on Channel 4)

Thanks for posting Don, and tell your co-worker Paul he rocks!

I laughed out loud several times on the Blair Witch mini movie. Eleanor is my favorite. Great stuff!

I know lots of work went into these fun spots. Great directing, shooting & editing.

And, I agree with Will. I hope, "Anonymous Scrooge" realizes that GDS has a history of being the #1 morning show in Sacramento. Marketing has changed since the 90's.

Love these spots. Keep up the great work guys!
