Very creative. Nice job all.

I love this spot. 'Bout time someone came up with a good CONCEPT!

... or maybe it means you've just had another round of layoffs.

Love the concept... but the timing may be off here.

The comment on timing because of layoffs is silly.

I disagree.
What does at least 10% of your audience associate with empty chairs and cubicles these days?
Layoffs.

It was my first thought when I saw the spot... and I'm (still) employed.

Maybe the "layoffs" poster just watched "Up in the Air."

I like it! Not crazy about "powerful news" though.

Reminds me of the time a station did a spot that showed all the people they had in the newsroom---lots of action, etc
The competing station did a spot about their newsroom--nobody there as everybody was out covering the news.
This is a good concept with a weak ending.

great concept. love the music! ending is not as great as it should have been - writing got a bit weak there. but i was interested!
(the comment about layoffs isn't completely off, but it wasn't my first thought.)

A-plus for thinking different..however I'm not sure the average viewer will equate 'empty desks' in an office area (I'm not sure the area even looked like a newsroom) with reporters being busy. We know as promotion people that an empty desk in the newsroom may mean the reporter is in the field..but I'm not sure the typical viewer will immediately register that...maybe a little inside baseball...but again, I like the originality.

Glad to see that we don't have the ugliest newsroom in the country. You know you've done a very creative spot when folks are divided about it like this forum. I thought it was a very creative beginning to the spot, not shot very creatively, but it got my attention. I just wish it had a stronger ending, both in the writing and in the visuals. You could have left the building too and went to find the reporters working hard, or at least find the reporters watching photographers working hard. (sorry, former photog coming out of me)

cute concept but VERY POOR TASTE! In a time when so many people are being layed off... the empty desk images will surely make people feel bad. Not smart.

Anon3 and 5 have a point about viewers not associating empty desks with reporters being out in the field.
