Dallas Does Things BIG

UPDATE: I jumped the gun posting the spot yesterday. Here is the final version, in which they fixed the "Everynight" issue. From our friends in Dallas -- who always come up with cool visuals -- this spot is big... over the top... and unlike anything you've seen before in a local news promo.

I like it, only thing I see wrong is "EVERYNIGHT" should be "EVERY NIGHT" towards the end.

I'm sorry...but I hated this. This felt so cheesy to me and the CGI graphics looked like a second rate video game. If you're going to go all out like this, do it right. Hire an outside designer/animator. But all that doesn't matter if your message doesn't connect with the viewer. This spot gave no reason to tune in. Message first, visuals second.

If I was a viewer, I would laugh and turn the channel immediately. I would never take this team seriously.

I was going to post that there is no word "everynight" but was glad someone else beat me to it.

It's different, cuts through the clutter. Fix that 'everynight', though.

Oh yes...more self absorbed television promotion.

I feel like the producer was going for a cheesy/retro feel, but this didn't really work.

"It's what our news coverage feels like" but I didn't feel anything.

Hey all...we appreciate all the comments...and realize this spot is pretty 'over the top'....but for what it's worth, it was designed to be that way. We are running this during our upcoming March Madness coverage on CBS in hopes of catching the eye of non-news viewers and at least making an impression with a non-traditional news ad. I know we all strive for ways to do that..and this one is pretty 'out there' for us...but thanks for all the feedback...best of luck in all your projects too...I enjoy seeing them on here. Thanks for posting the spot Don!

Dave, was the city and camera work designed in Video Copilot's Element 3D?

Good stuff!

Yeah, I'm not connecting with this spot at all. There's no emotion whatsoever.
