Hey Twit! Do You Twitter?

I'm not really sure why anyone would care that I ate Pop Tarts for breakfast this morning - but apparently ALL OF AMERICA cares. Well, maybe not about my poptarts - but Twitter has become a major deal very quickly.

Does your station Twitter? They should. We use it for two reasons -- sending headlines from our website and to send promotional messages.

One piece of advice - when following people - think quality, not quantity. There is a cap of 2000 people you can follow, so its best to follow people who are in your DMA. No sense sending out your well crafted promo lines to some guy in Australia.

Anyone else have any great Twitter advice? We're all probably in the same boat - trying to figure this out and make the time invested worth it.

More Great Spots

The use of sound is great although the line about a story i've seen left me confused. This spot intrigues me though... I'd watch!

Great Spots!

Here are some nicely done spots from WTVF, Newschannel 5 in Nashville.

See how they listened to their soundbites and came up with a creative visual approach:

This is what they had to say about it:

Now this is a tease! The investigation did pay it off. We caught several McDonald's restaurants hiring convicted sex offenders.

Here's another really teasy spot:

And another nice visual spot:

And lastly - a great promo. Wait til the end for the best bite ever on a story that's been done... this puts it over the top and makes me want to watch!!
