Congrats to a Favorite Producer!

If you're looking for the future of television promotion - look no further than Erica at WCCO. She'll tell you she's fairly new and still learning - but her spots show great range and understanding of what is great.

Last week, Erica won a Bronze Promax award for this spot:

She also did the promos for this station campaign that won a GOLD:

You can check out more info on her work on her blog:

Also - here are a few other promos from Erica:

Congrats Erica... one really nice person and a heck of a producer. We look forward to seeing more of her work!!

<---is very embarrassed. But, thanks for the compliments everyone.

paul, to answer your question I just turned 27. But, by fairly new I mean that I'm just starting to kinda "get" promotion, and to get some really awesome opportunities @ 'cco for shoots, etc...
Thanks to higher ups that believe in me.

I'm the rookie here, by quite a few years. My team is amazing, and I'm lucky to be surrounded by the best. They are all fantastic teachers, and the nicest people in the biz.... -and I have soooo much to learn from them.

Thanks for the surprise post, Don. I about fell off my chair.

The going green didn't do it for me...

Maybe I was too distracted by the text placement that I didn't actually read the text.

The other stuff is pretty good. I like their look.

ps. I can't take credit for the "nuk" concept. One of our news producers actually thought of it! (awesome, huh? a news producer thinking in "promoland" terms)

So your 27, a swimmer/cheerleading guru/promo rockstar...

I know this isn't e-harmoney, but I thinks I just found myself a match :)

who knew Don's blog actually served a purpose.

j/k buddy!

Nice stuff Erica.

I notice you and other producers at WCCO use some music with lyrics, both in sweeps and image promotion. Are those tracks from a music package?

I really liked the pacifier promo, the tantrum promo, and both of the green promos (plus, the whole idea of using fair goers to power the newscast--as someone else wrote--would make me want to watch). The reason I like these promos is that they're story-driven, tune-in promos, if you will, that local TV news marketing is asked to do all the time. But these were done with style, class, and made really good use of sound bites, and music. Love the female announcer, too.
The pacifier hook of putting some copy right on the pacifier was brilliant.

Great work, Erica.

Congratulations, Erica! It's always nice to be recognized for one's work, whether it's from bosses, co-workers or fellow promo types. It's even nicer when you have bosses that allow you to be creative. Keep up the good work.

Nice work Erica! I've always admired the 'CCO look. I love the clean look, and lack of an overpowering VO. These spots make me want to watch.
