That was awesome! You know you wish you had done that.

It's not I-10 Lego Playset, but it's fantastic.

I like it...

That's freakin' great! Totally original and gets your attention.

It's great if you want your weather team looking like idiots. I like the concept and the attention getting aspect, but it would be better used for your sports department. I hope there's a follow up promo that has the weather team making fun of this promo...that would give them some credibility back.

I agree with Scooterbucs... this is cute and attention getting - but what does it do to further your weather people?

I'm all for not taking ourselves so seriously - but I don't think this is the way to do it.

I >might< see doing a spot like that to air in Saturday Night Live or Mad TV. Otherwise, you have to be kidding me......

I agree with the previous comment. I think it's a great concept and well made, it but must be carefully scheduled. I can virtually guarantee that's what they are doing though.

I think something like this is perfectly okay for a weather team. I don't think it belittled the weather team in any way or made weathercasts look bad.

With sports you could go even further, but I think this stayed well within the limits of being both fun and maintaining credibility.

I mean, here in Houston we have a cheesy weather dog that no one seems to complain about. Weather can take on a slightly less serious tone and not suffer for it (assuming that's the tone you're going to set for your weather team.)

Name one station with a weather dog that is a real market leader in WX.

Ask and you shall receive.

KPRC here in Houston. Radar the Weather Dog.

Don will have to tell you if they're the market leader or not.

KPRC is definitely not the weather leader in Houston.

KPRC in Houston has a very credible weather team, and Radar the Weather Dog is a great way to break the monotony.
