Paul - do not backtrack from your original comment! This was horrendous. Are they trying to show us just how boring the actual show is and how lackluster the talent?! Whoever thought this should be put on the air should be replaced. And yeah, it coulda been interesting. but instead, it was the opposite. Epic fail.

What was the point of THAT!? What am I taking away from THAT?!
Are these people really that boring and contrived in on air?
Remind me never to eat lunch with WNBC.. and I'll probably skip their morning show too.
I will NOT be using this spot "as my measuring stick for the day"
It's a WCCO rip-off, not done quite as well. See the original here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYzYpBd4hZI
I think this coulda been interesting. The direction is good, and the talent is not as bad a Paul thinks. I've seen much more contrived and unnatural.
The talent is trying very hard to NOT do a straight sales pitch, but the message is so buried that it's tough to decipher.
Swing and a miss, but at least they took a swing.
Yeah, I may have been a tad harsh.
The WCCO spots are incredible. They still hold up, still hold my attention and everything about them comes off as genuine.
Is the team that executed that campaign still together? Didn't some of them end up at WBZ? Don??
Wendy McMahon was the CSD at CCO during this time. She later went on to WBZ. The work when she was there was also stellar.
She is now at KABC in LA.
Wendy is a genius -- and it should be pointed out, she had very strong teams at both CCO and BZ.
Great CSD plus great producers, etc = killer combination

Ugh. I would never have aired this. Talent comes off boring and the concept is just weak.
WOW. Truly bad. Someone send them the ABC7 Liz Cho/Bill Ritter stuff so they can copy it pronto.
