CBS 13 Political Promos

Here are three new political promos from my station in Sacramento, CBS 13.

Producers Mike Wiebe, Paul Kramer and myself worked on these.

I'm going to be honest here. Overall you made a nice attempt at something original and I think it might get viewers attention during a commercial packed break, however...the production values and acting especially were on the weak side. Surprising because I have seen some of your other stuff and the production values were very good. Almost would have preferred on location shots of the politician. I know a syke wall is easier and quicker but I think this is what gave it that disconnect and the feeling of low production value and in turn a feeling that your coverage will be the same. Also the music needed a little more comedic punch like a beat change or SPX to the contrasting politician.
Only my take on constructive criticism.

Here's the thing...I'm not really sure what these spots are promoting.
Sounds you're saying your station is on a mission to expose or straighten out mud sligning politicians.
The third spot is pretty funny...but again I kinda don't get it.
Just my 2 cents.

Credit to you (I do promoz) for putting up some of the negative comments up on your own spots. I know it can be hard to hear comments about your own work but this is how we all learn.

Cheers!

Lying, mud throwing, jabber mouths. Is it the job of a news station to paint all politicians with such a simplistic brush?

If we continue to degrade the people who run for elected office, we shouldn't be surprised when simply voting people in and out of office is no longer the means to which we govern our selves.

Way to go out on a limb and try something different, bravo! :)

It's a nice departure from the usual "we're so serious, blah blah blah."

That being said, I feel like pacing was just slightly off-but can't put my finger on it, so I'm probably just over-thinking.

Great job, Sacramento.

Oh, and to those of you posting under "anonymous" -why hide? Let's see your awesome political spots.
