WKYT: Game Show

Kellen at WKYT sent along this spot.

He'd like everyone to weigh in.

I like the idea however the pacing of the edit is far to long during the game show part. Looks like you were trying to fill a :30.

Points for originality, but not for the execution. You could have cut the bit down to :15-:20 and tagged it with your stations' team and tech. Still better than most run of the mill wx spots out there, though.

I like the concept. Good job making it look like a game show, but way too long of a set up. Pay off wasn't worth it. Needs less game show and more WKYT. And thought the "don't rely on luck" was weird. Could have been clearer that the other guys rely on luck, you have great tech, etc.

I love this! Great nostalgia factor and it pays off.

Plus, no one else in town would likely try this. Stand out!! Good!!

Production value is fantastic, but I agree it feels like it's a little too long. I took the "don't rely on luck" line to be pointed at me, the viewer... I think more blatantly pointing it at the competition (as previous comment stated) would really improve the message.

It’s a great outside the box spot. A fun way to do a weather promo. Great production values – but I also agree with the comments above. It does drag on a bit… perhaps it would be better as a :20? Nice job.

Nice! This is a fun spot with good production value. However, it took 25 Seconds to get to the focus, with only 2 seconds of identity. That's a lot of valuable real estate to waste on pretty pictures and wammies.

While I agree with some of the previous comments...I give an A+ for creative thought, execution and effort...sure, it could have been tightened up a bit and more focused...but as a manager, that would be my job to suggest to the producer..which I would have done in this case. But to the producer...great stuff..way to think different!

I too give this promo an A for effort and creative. And yes, it could have been tighter. My concern is (and I'm showing my age) I know that it's a takeoff of the old 70's game show Press Your Luck. Judging by the comments in here not many others knew that, so I'm guessing not many of the WKYT viewers would relate.

I had to google "Press you Luck".

Perhaps most news viewers would get it though?
